The Nitty-Gritty

And lower current means you can use thinner wiring, smaller switches, and you won’t get that annoying voltage drop when you’re wiring several units together across a site. As for the 300mm tube length, it wasn’t an accident. It’s a sweet spot. Short enough to squeeze into tight spots, but long enough to create a stable, hot zone and give you a predictable spread of heat.
What’s Inside
The halogen element is sealed inside a quartz envelope. This stuff can handle the extreme heat of the filament, and it makes the halogen cycle work its magic, keeping the bulb clean and clear. The R7s base is simple and tough. It handles the wattage without needing a bunch of extra hardware, which means swapping out a lamp is as easy as it gets. And that coating? It’s not just for looks. It’s a special infrared-selective layer that bounces visible light back onto the filament while letting the infrared warmth radiate outward.
What This Means For You
You get heat, fast. It’s directional, so you’re not wasting energy heating the whole sky. And the whole thing is a breeze to install. But let’s be real—there’s a trade-off. 2500W is a lot of heat density. So the housing and mounting materials have to be built to take the heat. You’ll often need proper airflow or a heat shield to keep nearby parts safe.
