Stop Overpaying for Your Krones Contiform Heating Lamps
If you’re running Krones Contiform machines, you already know the drill. If your heat distribution is off by even a hair, you end up with thin walls or that annoying pearlescent look on your PET bottles. It’s a headache. The problem is that original factory parts are expensive. Like, really expensive. We make drop-in replacement lamps that hit the exact same specs as the OEM ones, but they won’t drain your maintenance budget.
Getting the heat right
When you’re blowing bottles, you can’t afford to wait around. You need that heat to hit the PET instantly. That’s why we use shortwave infrared. It’s fast. Whether your oven is set for 230V or 400V, these high-wattage tubes give you the density you need for high-speed lines. The best part? They ramp up quickly. That means you spend less time tossing scrapped preforms in the bin during startup.
Built to actually last
Heat is brutal on equipment. To stop the tubes from bowing or warping under all that thermal stress, we use heavy-wall quartz glass. We also add a specialized coating to some of our lamps. Instead of wasting energy by heating up the machine frame, the coating pushes the infrared spectrum right where it belongs: onto the preform. And don’t worry about the wiring. We use standard R7s or Sk15 connectors. You just pop them in. No modifications, no fancy tools, no fuss.
A quick heads-up for the floor
These are direct replacements. If the wattage and length match what you have now, you can swap them out without having to recalibrate your entire oven. But here is the thing: if you decide to go with a higher-wattage lamp to squeeze more speed out of your production, keep an eye on your cooling blowers. More heat in the oven means more work for your fans. If your cooling system can’t keep up with the extra ambient heat, you risk frying your electronics. Just double-check your airflow before you make the jump to a higher-wattage version. Simple as that.
