
Why we stopped making “disposable” bathroom heaters
Here’s the problem with most infrared heaters: they’re sealed shut. If a heating element burns out after five years, you’re basically stuck. You can’t fix it, so you throw the whole thing in the trash and start over. That feels wrong to us. So, we did something different. We separated the heating element from the frame, turning what used to be a permanent fixture into something you can actually maintain. The “Slide-In” Approach We went with a slide-in design for the tubes. Instead of spending your afternoon soldering wires or tearing the whole housing apart, you just pull the dead element out and drop a new one in. It takes minutes. Not hours. Now, these tubes are built for speed. We use quartz glass and a halogen fill so you feel the heat the second you flip the switch. But there’s a catch—that kind of intense heat eventually wears the tubes down. It’s just physics. But since they’re easy to swap, it’s not a disaster when it happens. No Wiring Nightmares We also used plug-and-play connectors. You don’t have to be an electrician to handle this. You just unplug the old tube and snap the new one into the socket. It’s simple. Plus, it means you don’t have to worry about wiring mistakes while you’re working. As for the frame, we used reflective aluminum alloys. It bounces the heat forward toward you and keeps the back-end components cool and happy. The Trade-off Of course, this kind of precision comes with a few rules. The sockets have to fit perfectly to avoid any sparks or loose connections. And a quick tip: make sure you leave enough breathing room around the unit when you mount it. If it gets too cramped and the housing warps from the heat, those tubes won’t slide out as easily. Sure, a modular setup might cost a bit more when you first buy it. But think about the long run. You’ll never have to rip out and replace your entire electrical fixture just because one lamp gave up the ghost. That’s just common sense.
