If you’ve spent any time on a PET blowing line, you know the struggle. One wrong move with your heat profile and suddenly you’re dealing with pearlescence or walls that are way too thin in some spots and thick in others. It’s a headache. That’s why we make our IR lamps to fit the whole Sidel lineup—from those old-school SBO models to the newer Matrix series. The heat has to be just right. Moving from an SBO to a Matrix isn’t just a step up in tech; the oven architecture and heating zones change completely. If you throw in a lamp with the wrong wattage, your cycle times go out the window. Worse, the wrong voltage will fry a filament in a matter of hours. We’ve already done the homework on the wattage and voltage for each series. Our lamps match the original specs perfectly and fit right into your existing electrical rails. You won’t have to touch your control panels or mess around with rewiring. No fuss, just a swap. We use high-purity quartz because these ovens go through a brutal cycle of heating and cooling. Depending on which machine you’re running, we use R7s or SK15 connectors. It’s a simple process: pull the old tube, slide ours in, and lock it. That’s it. No tweaking the reflectors, no modifying the holders. We also pay a lot of attention to the end-cap tolerances. Why? Because when you’re running at high speeds, vibration is the enemy. We make sure our lamps stay put so they don’t fail when you’re in the middle of a big run. A quick word of caution. Here’s the thing: it’s tempting to bump up the wattage to speed up a slow line. It works, but it puts a lot more pressure on your cooling blowers. If you decide to push past the original Sidel specs, keep a close eye on the temperature of the lamp housing. If those sockets get too hot, the connectors will start to degrade.
