Running Krones Contiform machines is always a bit of a balancing act. You need enough heat to get the job done, but you don’t want to burn through your components every other week. When those maintenance bills start piling up, you need a replacement that just works—something that fits the electrical and thermal footprint of your original quartz lamps without the crazy price tag.
The Deal with Heat and Power
We build our quartz elements to handle the heavy lifting of PET preform heating. By using a precise tungsten filament inside high-purity quartz, we match the exact wattage and voltage your Contiform oven expects. Here’s the thing: shoving high wattage into a short tube creates an intense amount of heat. It’s great for getting those thin-wall PETs to ramp up quickly, but it puts a lot of stress on the quartz. If your cooling blowers aren’t doing their job, the ends of the tubes will just fry. It’s that simple.
Built to Last (and Fit)
To stop the tungsten from evaporating and clouding up the glass, we use a halogen-cycle fill. This keeps the infrared light punching through for thousands of hours. And you won’t have to mess around with your wiring. We use standard R7s or Sk15 connectors, so they just slide right into your existing sockets. Plus, the quartz is fused to handle the shock of rapid heating and cooling cycles without cracking.
Making Better Bottles
If your heating is uneven, you end up with those annoying thin spots or that cloudy “pearlescence” in the bottle. It’s a headache. We calibrate our elements to give you a steady, uniform radiation profile across the whole tube. That means you can stop constantly fiddling with the power settings on the machine. But a quick tip: keep your reflectors clean. If dust builds up, the lamps have to run hotter to hit the target temperature, and that’s the fastest way to kill your filament. A little cleaning goes a long way.
