How we actually do it An IP65 rating basically means dust can’t get in and water jets won’t penetrate the casing, no matter where they’re hitting. We didn’t just slap some tape on it. We used high-temperature silicone gaskets and beefed up the seals at every single spot where a cable enters the unit. That keeps the electrical terminals bone-dry. And then there’s the fogging. You know that annoying film that builds up on glass? We use specialized glass and coated quartz tubes. It stops moisture from clinging to the surface, so the heat actually hits your target instead of getting scattered by a layer of droplets. The payoff When water gets inside a heater, it’s a death sentence. It eats away at the wiring or causes the tube to crack the second the temperature shifts. It’s a vicious cycle. By locking the moisture out, we stop that corrosion in its tracks. You finally get a heater that doesn’t burn out every couple of months just because the shop floor got a bit damp. A few things to keep in mind Now, there’s a trade-off. Because the IP65 enclosure is so tight, it traps more heat around the internal electronics than a wide-open frame would. You’ll want to make sure your mounting brackets leave a little room for airflow. Just keep an eye on your control system to make sure the internal temp stays where it should. If you wrap the housing in too much insulation, you might actually overheat the wiring. Balance is key here.
